One way I have been able to juggle the demands of a full-time leadership job and a growing family is by outsourcing select tasks (read my blog on this here). I have listed a few of my favorite small businesses which have been life-saving over the years (many of whom the owners have also become friends). This list also includes suggested services from friends to help round it out. Take a look at some of my favorite (outsourced) things! 🙂
InstaCart– Because I love Publix, this is my favorite service. Amazon Fresh is also good, but the selection is limited and it is not as widely available. Both services require a subscription fee, and the groceries are more expensive than in the store. I try to shop sales and stock up on essentials via Amazon Subscribe & Save.
Hiring a cleaner has been the single greatest decision I have made since my daughter Aubrey was born five years ago! I have used TLC Professional Maids every other week since then and it is an excellent, detail-oriented job every time. For more info. call Tara Campbell at (770) 598-7417. They focus on the Metro Atlanta area.
For Yard Work:
For landscape architecture and design, I recommend Ann Johnson Design and have worked with her for both my residence and work projects. For regular cleanup and maintenance I call Jason Krutsky with Vision Vine (aka your friendly neighborhood yard dudes).
My colleague recently introduced me to 2ULaundry, a pick up and delivery service that can wash, dry, fold, and do dry cleaning. I love their tagline, “because time is delicate”. Use this link to get $20 off your first order.
For Family Meals:
Fresh by Tonya saved my life when my husband was recovering from hip surgery and I was solo parenting for six weeks. Her food is delicious (pork enchiladas! lasagna! soups!) and very reasonably priced. Plus she’s super cool and has three amazing kids. Fresh and local in the Atlanta area.
For Maintaining a Professional Wardrobe:
I am not even going to try and hide it… I LOVE StitchFix. I have been using this service for years to keep my work wardrobe current and professional. They offer personalized styling services and can flex for all kinds of occasions and seasons of life. Most recently I asked them for some post-maternity dresses for a beach trip and they nailed it. They do kids clothes too! If you decide to try it out, use this unique link and get $25 to spend!
For Professional Development & Life Coaching:
Darrah Brustein is a classmate of mine from Emory University and she just totally rocks. Her latest project is to help people live a “life by design, not by default” and she brings together the best minds, curates content, and makes it available for a super reasonable price. I recently tuned in for her first virtual summit and it was awesome. Highly recommend!
